Roberta

by Rachel A. Gold

She loved the Lord, she loved our church
She loved our class, and we
All loved our dear Roberta.
We miss her tenderly.

When she was gone we prayed for her
And placed her in God's care.
Though we were sad to look around
and see her empty chair

Each Sunday we asked anxiously
About her state that day
We asked about Roberta
And bowed our heads to pray.

We asked the Lord to watch her
And help her daily till
She could return to join us soon
If it should be His will

And when at last she woke at night
And knew her Lord had come
Gladly and calmly she welcomed His face
Rejoicing to go with Him home.
